I am now starting to enjoy painting this second portrait. After I repainted the face last week I began to really like the painting again. After finishing this figure in the portrait I will be starting experimentation on other canvases, to help me figure out what I want my background to consist of.

I have recieved good feedback from peers and friends about the change in my painting. Hopefully this means that I am getting better at painting faces, which I felt didn't match the way I can draw faces. This, as well as the way I have moved myself forward with this idea, has really helped me to consider the change in myself as an artist and how it relates to my project as a whole.

Now all I have to do is paint the dress and the rest of the skin, hopefully this will go better than the first time I pianted the face because I don't want to have to worry about repainting something, even if that helps me to figure out where I am going with the piece. I feel like the rings and fingers will be much harder to paint than I am anticipating so watch this space, I may either be a quivvering mess by the end or a happy fine art student.
