While I have been off for the Christmas break my Dad told me about an opportunity at a local Arts Centre.

"Calling all young artists! We are looking for submissions from young people aged 11 – 20 for this year’s Youth Arts Exhibition. The exhibition will be held in the new gallery space at Arts Centre Washington. The exhibition will open on 15th of January 2016 and will run through to 27th of February 2016. A special preview of the exhibition will be held on 14 January 2016, 6-8pm the winners will be announced at this event. Every entrant will receive a certificate and five winners from each age category will be selected by an independent judging panel. The winners will be invited to the Sunderland Young Achievers Awards ceremony at the Stadium of Light in March 2016."

I was really excited to hear about this opportunity because, other than the end of First Year exhibition, my work has never been presented anywhere. This open call is something that may (or may not) help me to further my artwork. Even though this is just a local exhibition it is still something that I immeditely wanted to do and get other people involved in the opportunity.

I will be attending the preview of the exhibition on the 14th of January and hoping for some sort of accolade. Fingers crosses.

The work that I have submitted is "Thank God it's them instead of you." (with permission from Virginia).
